Shush, Can You Feel The Butterfly?

Can the effect of the wing movement of the butterfly be felt halfway around the world? Will the fly that splatters itself on the windscreen of your car slow your speed? Do your thoughts, actions and efforts really count for anything in the great scale of things?

The answer to all of these questions is yes, however small, or seemingly insignificant the effect may seem, it is still an effect. Is that not something of huge and positive importance? We all have the possibility to make a positive contribution and to help bring about change, change for the better, change for the future of our world, for our children and our children`s, children.

Do not be put off, or dissuaded by the monumental scale of the changes needed, we the human race have arrived collectively, at the point we are now at, as the result of a very long journey, a very, very long journey, maybe since the time we began to walk on two legs!

Now we can see, look back at the road we have been following and appraise dispassionately our collective situation, we can see what we have achieved that is worthy of praise, worthy of feeling proud to be a part of the human race and we can see what we are and have been doing badly . That is a good starting point for correcting the errors that we have committed and emulating our higher moral achievements is it not?

If you, as I can see the negative aspects of the human races activity up to this point, then lets change it, lets work on it, bit by bit, little by little and remember that all of those little bits of contribution do have an effect. We may not feel, or see the effect that we have caused, we just have to believe, have trust and have faith in the positive aspects of being alive and remember the butterfly.

Yes without a doubt many of the changes that need to be made to the way we the human race live upon this planet and share this planets resources are huge, but that does not mean they are unachievable. Can we live alongside our wildlife and learn to respect rather than exploit the beauty and diversity of planet earth? The answer must be yes, but only if we actually try for it.

Where do we begin? We already have and slowly more and more people are realising the beauty and the beast of the human race. Each individual effort, in whatever form, when added to all the other individual efforts achieve a momentum, a ripple that can and does reverberate around the world.

Don`t give up, maybe within not so many generations the changes will kick in. Maybe the human race will become obsolete, maybe we can evolve into the "Human Stroll" and actually take the time to appreciate, marvel at and truly appreciate life and planet earth..........Shush.
